Scarey Car Accident!!!

October 14, 2008
So yesterday after getting my root canal and picking up the kids from Aunt Sandy's we were heading into La Verikin. Right at Toquerville heights there is some construction going on for the approach to turn into Toqer heights. So some old guy(like 80-90) coming from the opposite way got confused where the opening was and made a left turn in front of me and just stopped in the middle of my lane. By the time I realized he wasn't continueing to move it was to late. There he sits side ways in the middle of my lane. I was going to T-bone him!!!! So I locked up my brakes and held on. Then I realized even with me laying on the horn the whole time he still wasn't attemping to move and I was going to hit him hard. So I started turning left because to the right of me were a whole bunch of construction workers. I noticed that the oncoming traffic had stopped because the guy in the huge ford truck that was behind the old man must have seen that something bad was going to happen. In turning I thought for sure I was going to hit that ford head on, but bless the driver in that ford he must have reversed just enough. Mean while my back end corner hit the old man driving the little toyota. He was still in the middle of my lane!!! I jumped out of the car freaking out and crying. "I have three babbies in the car!!" In a panic not knowing what to do I just new I needed help. So all of the construction workers came running and determined we were all right. So I backed up off the road and they called the police. The old guy got a moving violation ticket and everyone was fine. Thank Goodness! I think about it now and I am proud of my self for handling the durango the way that I did. Because if I wouldn't have swerved left it could have been tragic. If I would have just held straight I would have killed the old mans wife in the truck and I probably would have gone through the windsheild. If I would have gone right I would have plowed over 4 constructions workers. So I am so thankful that heavenly father helped me make the right choice. And we are so blessed that no one was hurt.

What a story, and in little ol' Toquerville. I wonder if the old dude is going to lose his license now.
