Roxee + Tabasco = SCREAMING!

Ok so I know this is going to sound terrible but I did it for her own good. So for the past month Roxee has been chewing on the head board side of her crib. I have the teething protectors on her railings but they don't make anything for the curvy head board. After chewing all of the paint off she has now made it down to the wood. Looking at it she is getting little shards off and eating them. So in a panic wanting to put something on there so she would quit chewing and not wanting anything toxic on there I reached for the tabasco sauce. Trust me it is going to work. I can tell the second she starts to chew on it because I have never heard her scream like that. I feel bad but I am worried the wood is going to like cut her insides or give her slivers in her mouth.

Riley's 5th Birthday!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY!!! BIG 5!!!
January 28th, 2009
So for Riley's birthday we just had a simple birthday party. We all had hot dogs and just let the kids play. Riley's big gift from mom and dad was tickets to the Monster Jam Monster Truck Show in Salt Lake on February 14th. (happy valentines to US!!) He was really excited but didn't understand why he had to wait two weeks before he could see them. In the end it was all worth it!!

Riley got this cute hat from his preschool teacher and suprisingly enough he insisted on wearing it all day!!! This picture is of Riley Sorensen and our Riley Olds at the birthday party. These two boys love to hang out and have sleepovers together!!

All of the kids eating at the party. Riley also got a new skate board and other skate board items to go with it. Plus of course the Tec Deck board that he loves.

The Kids are trying to absorb all the cool things that santa brought!!!

Santa brought Roxee the fun activity center behind her. Grandma Kathy gave her the stroller and some cute outfits and most of the rest is from us (water baby, chevron cars, movies...). Gifts from GR&GR Olds, and GR &GR Sweeten aren't pictured. G&G Olds got her PJ's, Pillow with matching blanket, and a cute singing pupppy. G&G Sweeten got her a ball/hammer activity thing, and a baby doll.

Santa brought Riley a Nintendo DS lite, and an ATV game to go with it, plus some new tires for his Jeep Hurricane. Mommy and Daddy couldn't find the tires anywhere for the last several months so Santa made them "Special" just for Riley. Grandma Kathy got him new, sheets, blanket, and a comforter for his bed, and some clothes, and a hot wheels race track. G&G Olds got him a Mario game for his DS, PJ's, and a dog pillow with matching blanket. G&G Sweeten got him a digital camera and some tatoos. Mommy and Daddy did the monster truck DS game, Chevron Cars, movies, diecast motor cycle...
Santa brought Ramsey the Tickle me Elmo, and the Ride on Little Tykes Semi.

Christmas Fun!

This may be a rather long post so you will have to bare with me. I can not believe how much more fun Christmas is with little ones. We kind of became obsessed with the whole idea and may have done to much. I think as parents we actually enjoyed watching our children have Christmas than we ever did as kids. Not that our parents didn't create wonderful Christmas memories just that it is more fun to actually see the joy from a parents point of view.

The Olds' Grandkids in their Christmas eve PJ's. Grandma and Grandpa Olds do this every year.

Ramsey opening his PJ's. He wasn't sure what to think about getting clothes.

Riley loved his monkey snowboarding PJ's

Roxee of course loved getting new PJ's

This was the classic look of Roxee all morning opening presents. She decided eating them was more fun that anything!

We also didn't do a real "Christmas Breakfast". We just let the kids eat what ever! Horrible I know! Roxee picked rice crispy treats!

Riley ate a little candy but then still went for his cereal.

Ramsey apears to be eating cereal also, but if you will notice the chocolate all over his face. We counted at least 8 piece of fudge missing. My little chocolate monkey!

Our tree on Christmas eve. Presents from Mommy and Daddy, Grandma Kathy, and Aunt Shelly's family. We spoiled them but not that much!!

Enjoying the last of fall!

Kids riding around in their wagon! Daddy ended up pulling them for an hour because they all refused to get out!

Awwww! Riley sure loves to hold and take care of his little sister. Sometime he worries me when he carrys her around the house but she really doesn't seem to mind it.

We had so many pomegranites this year we didn't know what to do with them all. So I thought it would be a fun experience for Riley to have a stand and sell them. I must not have advertised it very well because the only "customers" he had was grandma, grandpa, and our neighbor Niles (because I called and told them to come buy some). hehehe. It was so cute because at first Riley picked Niles out four pomegrantes and tried to give hime 50 cents also. Then we explained to Riley that Niles was the one that was supposed to pay him. All in all riley made twelve dollars that day.

Brandon sharing his jacket with Roxee(10mo). Daddy was out watching the boys play in the yard and Roxee decided to wake up from her nap. So he didn't have time to put on her jacket (boys can't be unsupervised that long!) so he made due with just sharing his. I came home from the store to find my FAVORITE picture just waiting to be taken!

Catching up!

So here is Ramsey already following in his big brothers foot steps. He really was pushing the gas and figuring out the throttle. Daddy had to help him drive because he isn't quite strong enough to turn the handle bars, but he would not let daddy help him with the gas at all!

We did not do to much for halloween but I figure I better make a post about it since it is kind of a holiday. Riley had to be a ninja turtle, Ramsey was a dragon, and little Roxee was Tigger with a bow on her head(had to be a girl costume!). Grandma Kathy (my mom) came down to spend the weekend with us so she came with me to the trunk or treat at Lins. That was really lame! An hour wait for like 5 pieces of candy! After which we headed home and just went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Grandma stayed home and handed out candy so that Brandon and I could take the kids out. After we got back we got the kiddos to bed and Grandma insisted that Brandon and I go out to an adult halloween party. Which was really fun. Although we should have dressed up. Oh Well! At least we got out and had some fun.

After Halloween I rode with my mom back to Salt Lake so that I could take care of her after her heart surgery. We left Monday morning and come Tuesday morning while she was at the hospital my two babies woke up sick. They got what I had (strep and a cough). So after mom gets home Tuesday evening the work starts. Luckily it was a pretty simple surgery and she didn't need to much care. Between me and my kids being sick I already had my hands full. Not the greatest idea that mom and I have had. Me taking care of her with my three kids? We are all just crazy. The week went by and all was fine (I think?). Brandon came up on Thursday night and it had snowed a ton! So Riley had been patiently waiting all week for his dad so that they could build a snow man together. So early Friday morning that is what they did. Cute!

My little helper gets hurt!

Ramsey is such an awesome little helper these days. He loves to throw away his and Roxee's diapers, put dishes away, and throw the dirty laudry down the stairs(our getto laundry shoot). Sometimes I will find diapers at the bottom of the stairs or dishes in the garbage but I don't mind. He likes to help. So this morning after he got up I was trying to find his favorite cartoons on tv and he found a pair of his shorts from the other day. So being the thoughtful little boy that he is he decided to throw them downstairs for me(with out being asked).I do have a permanent gate there with the swinging door but I must not have made sure that it latched when I came up stairs and our house was built in the 40's so we have very steep narrow stairs that are wood. All of a sudden I hear the worst crashing and thumping I have ever heard. HE FELL DOWN THE STAIRS!!! I ran and my heart sank as I am running down the stair and I see him there at the bottom all twisted up. I hesitated to pick him up in case it would do more damage. He began crying and moving around so I new that he was somewhat ok. He only cried for about 10 seconds. Meanwhile Riley heard all of the comotion and asked me what I did to Rams. Made me feel horrible. I was paniced and ran next store to Linda and woke her up. We decided after checking his eyes and looking him over he was fine. Not one bump! Only a little scrape on his neck! He was playing and eating just normal. I still couldn't feel comfortable with it so I ran him to instacare and they determined that he was fine. WHEW!!

Roxee feeding her self!

Here is my beautiful Roxxe girl feeding her self for the first time. She loves mashed potatos! This is her not so girly side. Which is starting to come out more and more everyday! She loves feeding her self now. She does a pretty good job too! Obviously just look how smushy she is! I love it!!

Sick of feeling YUCKY!

So this last three weeks has been really hard on me for some reason. (close your eyes if you don't want to hear me vent). To start: I had a bad absest tooth that I toughed out for four days. Finally went to the dentist and they gave me antibiotics. Two days into the antibiotics I go the flu. Along with my two boys. A week later I get a root canal. Which I would much rather give birth than go through that again! An hour after my lovely root canal I get in a car accident with all my kids in the car. Way to tramatic!! And no I was not on any pain killers!! I wouldn't drive if I had takin anything like that. Then three days later I felt like I was getting a bladder infection. Later that night I was rolling in pain (much worse than contractions have ever been!) My kidneys were killing me. I almost had Brandon take me to the ER, but I decided to tough it out. What a long night! Sunday we headed to insta care in Hurricane. They were closed! So here we come St. George! So the insta care in St. George wanted all the money owed before we could leave. Which Brandon had not got paid so we could not afford it. Plus it was a FOUR hour wait with all three of my kids surrounded by sick people. So we just left. Two days later Brandon got paid so I went into my kids doctor. Mainly because Roxxe has had a bum rash for two weeks. And the Pink Swizzle did not work for her. So her doctor took care of me also at no charge and determind that I had a double kidney infection. So here I sit on antibiotics again. I am now two days into them and still feel no better. Now I have the body aches again. If I don't stay on top of the Ibuprophin I can not function and take care of the kids. What in the Crap is wrong with me!!! Our health care system sucks especially if you don't have insurance!! My kids do but I do not. Also in the midst of all this my husband is getting his dental work done which when all is said and done will cost us like $20,000. So he has been trying to work off some of that by remodeling the dentist office. Which means he has to work there on weekends and evenings. GRRRRRRRRRR I hate this! I like him home at those times. Especially when I don't feel good. Maybe one day I will be able to figure out what is wrong with me. Hopefully before it is to late. Plus, my doctor wants me to get an MRI for my migranes. Who can afford that! Ok I am done venting now. My life really isn't that bad but right now at this moment it feels that way.

The Energetic Trio

So around here on Thursday nights you can expect me to be going or have already gone insane. Every Thursday night Brandon goes out to the sand dunes with his brother and their "crew". While I am left home to care for the kids after already caring for them ALL day! Really I don't mind. But usually it is more crazy in the evenings and they are always more wild at night. So with out daddy and his "skills" it is usually an insane night for me. So my solution to the problem is to throw all them in the bath together al let them play until their wrinkles have wrinkles. As you can see I wont be able to do this to much more because Riley is already covering up so no one can "see". I am glad though that he is aware of that though.

Riley made the cutest Pinata at school this week. He is getting so good at his "R's" We spent most of Wednesday night trying to break it open. Surprisingly Ramsey was the first one to get any candy out of it. Fun stuff!

MY CRAZY KID FREAKING HIS MOM OUT!!!

Here is my wonderful son at 3 years old. He is totally a child prodigy when it comes to riding things. He is so CRAZY!!!! I have no idea what I will do when he gets older. Right now at 4 and a half his dad is trying to find him a dirt bike. The only problem being is that they don't make one small enough for him. Or for that matter one that is small enough that can still go fast enough. He would just get borde with one that goes to slow. He is just to short to reach the ground even on the smallest dirt bike made. I also have to mention why I think that he is a riding "prodigy". For one he rode a bike (plastic trike) three months before he could walk. And Second he started riding a two wheeler just after his third birthday. We took the training wheels off and the first time we tried he just took off. Ever since he has been pulling wheelies and doing BMX tricks. He is due for a new bike but his legs are not long enough to get the next size up, and I don't want to buy him another bike that is the exact same size as the one he has got. Which is the smallest pedal bike that they make. Obviously I am so proud.

Racin Riley!

My little Riley (left) and his cousin Jesse all geared up to go riding! They are so cute and cool just waiting for there turn. Riley loves to ride his little four wheeler. He rides better than I do and has no fear. He loves to spin broadies and stand up on the seat when he is riding. He is totally crazy and it freaks me out!!!

Scarey Car Accident!!!

October 14, 2008
So yesterday after getting my root canal and picking up the kids from Aunt Sandy's we were heading into La Verikin. Right at Toquerville heights there is some construction going on for the approach to turn into Toqer heights. So some old guy(like 80-90) coming from the opposite way got confused where the opening was and made a left turn in front of me and just stopped in the middle of my lane. By the time I realized he wasn't continueing to move it was to late. There he sits side ways in the middle of my lane. I was going to T-bone him!!!! So I locked up my brakes and held on. Then I realized even with me laying on the horn the whole time he still wasn't attemping to move and I was going to hit him hard. So I started turning left because to the right of me were a whole bunch of construction workers. I noticed that the oncoming traffic had stopped because the guy in the huge ford truck that was behind the old man must have seen that something bad was going to happen. In turning I thought for sure I was going to hit that ford head on, but bless the driver in that ford he must have reversed just enough. Mean while my back end corner hit the old man driving the little toyota. He was still in the middle of my lane!!! I jumped out of the car freaking out and crying. "I have three babbies in the car!!" In a panic not knowing what to do I just new I needed help. So all of the construction workers came running and determined we were all right. So I backed up off the road and they called the police. The old guy got a moving violation ticket and everyone was fine. Thank Goodness! I think about it now and I am proud of my self for handling the durango the way that I did. Because if I wouldn't have swerved left it could have been tragic. If I would have just held straight I would have killed the old mans wife in the truck and I probably would have gone through the windsheild. If I would have gone right I would have plowed over 4 constructions workers. So I am so thankful that heavenly father helped me make the right choice. And we are so blessed that no one was hurt.

My boys love working with daddy!

My wonderful husband is always helping out a neighbor or somebody. It doesn't matter if he just got home from a 10 hour day or not. He is always willing to help. My boys love to work with him and it surprises me that most the time he lets them if its possible. So here he is trying to work with two little ones on his lap.

Every day when the boys hear their daddies big loud truck pull up they run out the front door as fast as they can and stand by the truck door until he gets out. Its pretty cute because now Ramsey has started doing the same thing and thinks that he should get to go work with daddy too. Even though I am sure it makes it harder for Brandon, but he puts up with it. Other wise Ramsey would be screaming in the house because he feels left out. I am so fortunate that Brandon actually thinks about stuff like that and realizes that Ramsey would feel that way.

My Kids, My Husband, My Life!!

All day I get to stay at home with my beautiful children. I am so fortunate to be able to do so. My husband is so awesome to understand that this is where I need to be right now. He too believes this is the most important thing for me to be doing right now.
